Don’t blend in, just stand out

Ad’m Martin (pronouns: he/him) is a writer, poet, filmmaker, performing artist and ensemble member of True Ability, one of Adelaide’s most influential and reputable professional theatre, film and interactive production initiatives for those living with disabilities. Even though he had to straddle through the unrelenting rejection, toughness and turmoil he had experienced firsthand after coming out as gay when he was 15 years old on top of getting diagnosed with a neurological impairment, Martin isn’t one to deny that his physical, emotional and mental health afflictions hasn’t had any other significant impacts on his own life.

Martin divulges more into his many peculiar, unflinching, heart-wrenching, courageous, undaunted, and sardonic facets with De-Stigmatised‘s Jarad McLoughlin, which also included touching on his own struggles of trying to somehow ‘fit in’ with the ‘toxic’ modern day LGBTQIA+ community as a wheelchair user.
