Will the ‘climate trigger’ trigger climate action?

This week the Greens announced they would support the federal government’s proposed Climate Change Bill and it is set to pass through the senate.

However, as part of negotiations for support, the Greens have proposed that the bill include a ‘climate trigger’ policy to better assess future projects and their impact on the environment.

Phillipa McCormack, a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Adelaide’s Law School, speaks with Breakfast’s Tom Mann about the proposed policy.
