Ingenuity on Mars

Posted on: Fri 23 Apr 2021

This week NASA successfully completed the first powered flight of an aircraft on another planet, launching the Ingenuity helicopter from the Perseverance Mars rover.

Whilst the flight was less than a minute, it represents a milestone feat as scientist have discovered how to fly in another atmosphere.

Senior Lecturer in Physics at RMIT University and former Astronaut instructor, Dr Gail Iles joins Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Paul Davies to tell us more about this breakthrough flight.
