Screen Reviews – French Exit

Posted on: Tue 16 Mar 2021

French Exit is a 2020 surreal comedy film directed by Azazel Jacobs.

Based off the novel of the same name by Patrick deWitt, French Exit tells the story of a Manhattan Heiress who moves to Paris with her aimless son and cat and what is barely left of her inheritance

Screens Reviewer Aimee Knight describes this as a “head-scracher” of a film.

The novel and movie are created by the same man, and Aimee believes uou can be more more languorous in a long plot during a book, whilst it is harder to achieve that in a mainstream film.

The son is such a timid blank character whilst Michelle Pfeiffer carries the film.
