On this day in history:

In 1868, the stapler was patented in England by C H Gould. It’s said that the stapler was invented after King Louis XV requested a better way to have his papers joined together.

In 1907, a musical composition was broadcast on radio for the very first time. It was broadcast by inventor Lee de Forest, known as the “father of radio”.

In 1960, Elvis Presley completed his 2-year stint in the US Army, stationed in West Germany.
