Posted on: Wed 3 Mar 2021

On this day in history:

In 1986, the Australia Act was commenced. The result of this legislation was a formal separation of legal ties between the United Kingdom and Australia, allowing Australia to become fully independent.

In 1991, Rodney King was beaten by Los Angeles police officers after a high speed chase down an LA freeway.

In 1956 Elvis Presley’s classic song “Heartbreak Hotel” hit number one on Billboard’s top ten and stayed there for seven weeks.
