The Democrats have been blocked in the senate from an attempt to raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour.

The last time the minimum wage was increased was over a decade ago, in 2009.

This is not maintainable for the lower and middle class due to inflation and the added stress of Covid-19 in America.

Also in the US; President Joe Biden ordered airstrikes in Syria this past week on facilities acting as strategic grounds for Iran in backed militant networks.

This was in response to a drone attack on an airport in Saudi Arabia, as well as targeting of US military personnel at an airport in Iraq.

Breakfast’s Zoe Kounadis and Tom Mann speak to US correspondent Taylor Kaplan to discuss the potential consequences of such actions and what is going on in the United States.
