The benefits for mothers’ brains

According to research, female brains undergo physical and emotional changes during pregnancy to prepare them for being a mother.

However, some academics claim the changes don’t stop there and ultimately provide more neurological benefits to mothers much later in their lives.

PhD Candidate at the Turner Institute for Brain and Mental Health and Monash Biomedical Imaging at Monash University, Winnie Orchard chats with Breakfast‘s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to delve a bit deeper.
