BHP scrap proposed $3.7B Olympic Dam expansion

Posted on: Fri 23 Oct 2020

This week, BHP announced they will scrap their proposed $3.7 billion dollar Brownfields Expansion at Olympic Dam, in favour of a number of smaller projects.

The South Australian Government declared the Brownfield Expansion a major project in February 2019, and was set to boost the level of uranium production, but the Australian Conservation Foundation say this move is further evidence of the deep market unease surrounding uranium operations.
