On This Day – 21st August

Posted on: Fri 21 Aug 2020

On this day in history;

In 1993, the communication with the robotic spacecraft MARS OBSERVER was lost.

In 1911, the famous painting Mona Lisa was stolen from the Louvre in Paris. The culprit was an employee who walked out with the painting hidden under his coat after the museum had closed.

In 1961, the American record label Motown Records released what would be its first number one hit in America, which was “Please Mr. Postman” by The Marvelettes.

Breakfast producer, Soph Landau, joins Breakfast’s Tom Mann to elaborate on these events in history.
