On This Day – February 12

Posted on: Wed 12 Feb 2020

On This Day;

In 1924, at the “Experiment In Modern Music” concert held in New York City, a young man named George Gershwin, performed a brand-new piece of his own composition, called Rhapsody In Blue.

Gershwin pieced Rhapsody In Blue together as best he could in the time available, leaving his own piano part to be improvised during the world premiere.

Breakfast producer Zak Stuart joins Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to elaborate on this event in history.
