How to love your thighs

Posted on: Sat 1 Feb 2020

Playwright Laura Desmond is learning not to care what people think of her and rather prioritise her happiness.

Dr Selflove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love My Thighs is a retelling of stories from her life.

“It’s a bit of a look at how society is setting people up to hate themselves and how hard it can be to try and overcome that and to see yourself from a loving perspective,” she tells presenter Tara Nash.

“That’s really hard to do when everything you’ve ever seen makes you feel like you’re not good enough.”

Here, she speaks of this show, along with Peach Cobbler and Ange Lavoipierre: Zealot which are coming to Adelaide Fringe, presented by Big Mood.
