On This Day;

In 1642, often heralded as “the father of modern astrology and physics”, Italian astronomer Galileo Galilei died in Italy at age 77.

In 1946, Gladys Presley bought her 11 year old son Elvis his first guitar for $6.95. This, as well as the wealth of music surrounding the young Elvis would shape the musical icon into what we know today.
