Aged Care Interim Report

Posted on: Fri 8 Nov 2019

The Royal Commission into Aged Care released its interim report, titled ‘Neglect’, which identifies three areas that need immediate action in the sector: providing more home packages, reducing medical restraint and having fewer young people with a disability living in nursing homes.

Joseph Ibrahim, Professor of the Health Law and Ageing Research Unit at Monash University, joins Breakfast to talk us through the report. Ibrahim states that addressing these areas will be not enough as the aged care system still has deeply entrenched problems to fix.
