Community invited to Raise the Rate BBQ

Posted on: Tue 26 Mar 2019

City of Charles Sturt has become the 25th council in Australia to pledge its public support for an increase to the rate of Newstart.

Anti-Poverty Network SA will be heading over to Town of Gawler, in the hope that councillors there too will vote yes on a motion to pledge support for a raise.

Hayden and Thea from Anti-Poverty Network SA say the group are busy in campaign mode and are holding a BBQ for people looking to get involved, as well as a trip up to Whyalla and Port Augusta, to connect with communities there.
