Australian Republic?

Since the 1999 republic referendum was defeated – the idea has lingered in public discourse ever since.
It was again peaked when republican, Malcolm Turnbull was sworn in as Prime Minister however that was quickly quelled when he stated that Australia had larger and more pressing issues to deal with and that he was an Elizabethan.
Senior Fellow at the Australian National University Mark Kenny joins us to discuss the possibility of an Australian Republic under would-be Prime Minister Bill Shorten.
