In 1972, the Apollo 17 crew returned to Earth. Apollo 17 was the sixth and last Apollo mission in which humans walked on the lunar surface.
In 1988, NASA unveiled plans for a lunar colony & manned missions to Mars.
In 1843, A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens was published — and sold out by Christmas Eve!
