Minister Wyatt on health and aged care

Posted on: Fri 2 Nov 2018

In this week’s Anangu Lands Paper Tracker radio show, we talk with the Honourable Ken Wyatt AM, MP – the Federal Minister for Indigenous Health, and the Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care.

We talk with Minister Wyatt about a range of health and aged care issues that affect Anangu living in remote communities across South Australia.

In particular, we focus on the positive developments about community-based dialysis and the introduction of the new Medicare remote dialysis item; we’ll also talk about ear health and hearing loss; the work being done on trying to get rid of eye diseases such as Trachoma; the challenges of Rheumatic Heart Disease; the increase in reported cases of Syphilis in the Northern Territory; and the needs of senior Australians living in remote communities.

This program was made possible with support from the Community Broadcasting Foundation. Find out more at cbf.org.au
