In 1940, four teens, following their dog down a hole near Lascaux, France discovered a seventeen thousand-year-old drawings now known as Lascaux Cave Paintings.

In 1624, the first submarine was publicly tested in London on the Thames for King James I.

In 2000, the Netherlands passes a law allowing same-gender marriage, adoption and divorce.

In 1966, N.B.C. aired the first episode of The Monkees TV show in the US.
