Melanie Horsnell – One of the World’s Gentle Souls

Posted on: Tue 21 Aug 2018

Tonight’s Songcatcher guest, all the way from Candelo in NSW (not too far from where the current batch of southern NSW bushfires are burning – in August!) has a new CD release, part of the output as a duo with Steve Appel – The World Has A Gentle Soul. Which along the way we discover is the title track that is in homage to Iain Sheddon, once the drummer with Brisbane’s ‘The Saints’ and more recently an Adelaide based musician who would find a way to be at many King Curly (the usual stage name of Steve Appel) complete with drums!

Melanie is a well recognised songwriter and performer, touring the East Coast extensively, as well as regularly in Europe. We learn about the Candelo Songwriters Group and that this region is very popular with many Songwriters, who live away from the large cities…

And there’s a sample of her favourite track from her Album in French!
