How will China’s Recycling Ban Affect Australia?

Following China’s decision to impose restrictions on how much foreign waste it imports, Australia’s having to rethink its domestic recycling strategy.

Federal and state environmental ministers met on Friday to discuss how to tackle this decision and have agreed to prioritise the development of a larger domestic recycling market.

Research consultant, Jennie Downes, from the Institute for Sustainable Futures at the University of Technology Sydney, joins Breakfast host Tom Mann to discuss the impact of his decision.
