Domestic Violence in the Federal Budget

Posted on: Tue 15 May 2018

Last Tuesday’s federal budget allocated $18.2 million to domestic violence, including $11.5 million for 1800RESPECT, the national sexual assault, domestic and family violence helpline.

On the surface, this funding appears a step in the right direction, but questions remain as to whether this is adequate to make a real difference in the areas of education and prevention.

Feminist insider, Meaghan King of the YMCA, joins Breakfast to discuss this funding and methods of preventing domestic violence.
