In 1860, the first recording of the human voice was created by Édouard-Léon Scott de Martinville using a phonautograph.

In 1867, the third Prime Minister of Australia, John Christian Watson was born in Chile. His place of birth begs the question – was he eligible to be Prime Minister of Australia?
