Posted on: Wed 21 Mar 2018

Bushfires are synonymous with loss, whether loss of home, livelihood or life the impact of their damage can be far reaching.

One aspect of their impact that isn’t often discussed is the psychological damage of being a victim of a bush fire.

‘The main issue is loss, not just the physical structure, but the loss of the memories’, says Dr Jim McLennan, Bushfire Safety Researcher from the School of Psychology and Public Health at La Trobe University.

He joins Breakfast’s Tom and Casey to discuss.
