The Issue of Water Safety – Surf Life Saving

Posted on: Thu 28 Dec 2017

Adelaide beaches are tempting in this summer heat, their beauty is hard to resist, but are you aware of the danger the water poses?

With two recent drownings just eight days apart at Adelaide’s busy Glenelg Beach, we must assess the risks and make sure we are up-to-date with water safety, not only at the beach, but also in the pool.

Action on water safety is being called for, especially for people who are not locals, as drowning rates are higher for non-locals and international visitors.

Ben Laurenson from Surf Life Saving SA spoke to Breakfast host Tom Jordan about the issue of water safety, and what you can do to keep yourself and your family safe around the water.
