Can Artists Make a Living From their Work?

A report by the Australian Council of the Arts has found that the average total income of Australian artists is 21% below the Australian workforce average.

This is only one of the many economic issues facing artists across Australia which include a wide gender pay gap and a stark inequality between education level and income.

Head of Research at the Australian Council of the Arts, Lisa Walsh, speaks with hosts, Tom Mann and Ian Newton about these issues and how they can be tackled.
