Ro Allen on work, life and LGBTI peoples’ rights

Next month, the Australian Council of Social Service will host its annual conference in partnership with VCOSS.
This year’s theme is Australia in 2030: Creating the future want and one of the guests who will be speaking on this theme is Ro Allen, Victoria’s first Commissioner for Gender and Sexuality.
Small Change’s Lisa Burns caught up with Ro for a chat about marriage equality, where we are now in terms of understanding, acknowledging and upholding LGBTI peoples’ rights, where we hope to be in 2030, and the kinds of stories Ro has been hearing from communities during the LGBTI Equality Roadshow in rural and regional Victoria.
