On This Day – 10th of December

Posted on: Tue 10 Dec 2019

On This Day;

In 1932, the vicious war of attrition between Western Australian emus and farmers came to its long-awaited end. Minister of Defence George Pearce finally withdrew military personnel and ammunition after humiliating media coverage.

In 1967 we saw the tragic loss of soul musician Otis Redding and his backing band, The Bar-Keys, in a plane crash over Wisconsin. He is remembered to this day through covers, samples and tributes by past and contemporary musicians.

And in 2007 the Hulk Hogan trend continues as he returns to the ring for the third time, battling The Undertaker.

Breakfast producer, Leon Bishop, joins Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to elaborate on these matters.
