Alarming suicide rates among tradies

Research has shown, compared to other industries, those in construction are at a higher risk of experiencing mental health problems.

Suicide rates of male construction workers, compared to males in all other occupations, are almost double.

This is linked closely to the work-life balance expected on tradies and the culture of masculinity in the sector.

Larissa Bamberry, Senior Lecturer in the School of Management and Marketing at Charles Sturt University, joins Breakfast to discuss more.
