Cheryl Axleby on ALRM and funding for legal services

Posted on: Fri 10 May 2019

This week’s Anangu Lands Paper Tracker interview is with Cheryl Axleby who is the Chief Executive Officer of the Aboriginal Legal Rights Movement (ALRM) and the Co-Chair of the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Legal Services (NATSIL).

We chat with Cheryl to find out more about the work of the ALRM and the significant funding cuts and changes to the way in which Aboriginal legal services are funded. We’re wondering how these cuts will affect ALRM and other frontline legal services.
