On This Day;

In 1913, a French modernist painting named “Nude Descending a Staircase” by Marcel Duchamp caused an uproar when it debuted in New York.

In 1978, the first Iron Man Triathlon was held in Kona, Hawaii.

In 1973, the nationally syndicated radio concert series The King Biscuit Flower Hour premiered.
