Australian gender equality slammed

At the beginning of July, the United Nations Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination Against Women conducted a review on Australia’s commitment to end discrimination against women. 

The committee has slammed the country for the declining outcomes for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, as well as the treatment of women in offshore detention.

Meaghan King joins Breakfast’s Sam and Casey to discuss the review, as well as Obama’s recent comments on bringing women into politics.
