The Importance of Universities

The Federal Government has announced a $2.2 billion cut over the next two years to university funding.
This this will be achieved by freezing funding which was allocated in 2009 to meet the demand for university education.This cut could curb the trend of growth in university attendance since the 1960s.
Professor of Economics from Australian National University, Glenn Withers, joins Breakfast’s Tom Mann to discuss the ongoing importance of the university sector.
