Dave Miller – Victor Harbor RSL

Posted on: Mon 5 Mar 2018

Ever wondered what’s happening in some of our rural RSLs, and in particular how they’re increasing community involvement? Dave Miller tells us about his Army background, how he got roped into accepting the Presidency of the Victor Harbor RSL Sub Branch, and what they’re doing in that neck of the woods.

Imagine the Anzac Day dawn service overlooking beautiful Encounter Bay with the sun rising as the ode is played.  It now attracts thousands of attendees.  Service Voices visited their premises last week to find a very welcoming, inclusive bunch of members.

The Soldiers’ Memorial Garden with its rows of iconic memorial Norfolk Island pines is situated on the foreshore at Victor Harbor.  It’s a popular meeting and picnic area adjoining the main playground, biking and walking sites.  The area contains the cross of remembrance and other memorials.
