On this Day – 11 December

Posted on: Mon 11 Dec 2017

On this day in 1719, the first recorded sighting of the Aurora Borealis took place in New England.

Filling the sky with a mix of wonderful yet mysterious stream of colours, the lights provoked fear in the minds of New Englanders and even led some to believe Judgement Day was coming.

Breakfast producer Milly Schultz-Boylen joins Tom Mann in the studio to discuss this sighting and other events from this day in history.
