SA Launches Royal Commission into Water Theft

Posted on: Mon 27 Nov 2017

Following a review into compliance of the Murray-Darling Basin plan, the South Australian government launches a royal commission into allegations of water theft upstream.

While the federal government label this decision a ‘stunt’, they will not stand in the way of the royal commission.

South Australian Minister for Water, Ian Hunter expresses his concerns over the federal government’s involvement in the royal commission.

‘The federal government doesn’t want anything to do with it and doesn’t want to be part of the solution’, says Minister Hunter.

Minister Hunter speaks with Tom Mann and Ian Newton about the royal commission and why it’s needed.
