Headspace Day: Looking after your mental health

Posted on: Mon 9 Oct 2017

According to statistics, around 1 in 4 young Aussies regularly struggle with some form of mental illness such as depression and anxiety.

To kick-start  National Mental Health week, today is Headspace Day where all young people are encouraged to start an open conversation surrounding mental health.

Headspace Australia’s CEO Jason Trethowan joins us this morning to discuss the importance of looking after your mental health and addressing problems early on.

As part of the campaign, individuals are prompted to share their personal tips and advice about combating the blues with the hashtag #headspaceday.

If you or a loved one are facing mental health difficulties please check out headspace.org.au for advice or centre locations.

You can also call LifeLine on 13 11 14 or Kid’s Helpline on 1800 55 1800.
