On this day Alfred Alfred Hitchcock’s film Psycho was released across the United States. The film is Hitchcock’s most iconic and earned US$32 million at the box office.

The Kennedy Centre for Performing Arts also opened in Washington DC on this day. Here is Aretha Franklin performing at the Kennedy Centre Honours in 2015.
