La Bohème faces hardship

Posted on: Mon 18 Mar 2019

La Boheme has been the much beloved home of jazz, cabaret and comedy for over twelve years. Recently, they have announced that they may have to close their doors due to financial trouble. Changes to licensing and ongoing roadworks and development have affected foot traffic over the last few years, making it a challenge to maintain operations as a local arts venue.

The Go Fund Me campaign started to raise funds to save the venue has already seen a huge amount of support from the Adelaide arts community, with contributions nearing the target of $30,000.

La Bohème owner Paul Boylen joins Breakfast’s Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis on the line to talk about the venue and the current situation.
