Posted on: Mon 18 Dec 2023

Greyhound lovers/owners/foster carers Vanessa, Jennifer, Brendan, Pam, Abby, Karen, Tanya, David, Connie, Ellen, Dianne, Linda, Michael, Pip, and Hayley (from GAP SA)… tell Listeners of a wonderful service that many perform in rehoming, fostering and/or adopting those beautiful sleek adorable dogs when they retire from racing or aren’t suitable to race. If you haven’t been looked into the eyes adoringly by a Greyhound then you’ve missed out on a wonderful life experience.

Interested in adopting or fostering a greyhound?

Photo by Helen Meyer 2023: Bruce Greyhound loves having a job to do, and is especially good at carrying things. Here he’s carrying his grooming brush back into his Foster Carer’s house after a grooming session outside. In the mornings, he’d hold the hem of his Foster Carer’s long dressing gown and follow her lovingly around the house like a bridesmaid. Bruce has now been placed with a wonderful Adoptive family.

Bob Kearney with Wally Greyhound 2023. The adorable Wally loves people and is good with children, doesn’t chase birds, and is good with chooks… but he’s also a superb, intelligent guard dog.
