Disabled voices must be heard no matter what

Thomas Markwell is currently undergoing a dry spell in terms of his limited employment prospects, but his resoluteness in wanting to get into community radio hasn’t waned. Having participated in the CMTO’s Audio Ability Program Project as one of it’s original twenty-five students/mentees, Markwell found the course to be quite engaging and educational for him in terms of understanding the diverse backgrounds of those who were involved.

Markwell hasn’t yet obtained a pivotal role as a presenter or producer, but that isn’t stopping him from pursuing more training opportunities with Brisbane’s 4ZZZ 102.1 FM, together with venturing into podcasting so that he can bring to light authentic, transparent and meaningful stories about those who live with a disability, which are rarely if ever heard elsewhere in Australian mainstream media.

Markwell also find time to veer off De-Stigmatised‘s Jarad McLoughlin into hysterical giggles with his incredibly flawless satirical impersonations of Mickey Mouse, ex-President of the United States, Donald Trump and three former Australian Prime Ministers – Bob Hawke, John Howard and Kevin Rudd, whereas he parodied the latter over his self grandiosity and pomposity.
