Syd Ayliffe RAAF: WW2 Troop Train

Syd chats with regional historian John Mannion about wartime service in RAAF Signals, including the steam train troop-train journey to his post in the Northern Territory. It was there that Syd met RAAF camouflage officer Eric Jolliffe, who would go on to become one of our most famous cartoonists.
Sydney Hamilton Ayliffe born 17 Jan 1924 died 26 Mar 2009 at the age of 85.
