Activism Tourism

Activism Tourism. The Bob Brown Foundation are actively encouraging this right now in the precious Tarkine/takayna region in NW Tasmania. The southern hemisphere’s largest single tract of temperate rain forest, rich in biodiversity, is under threat and already suffering damage from MMG, the mining company planning to build an extra tailings dam. Jo Wilmot and Cate Mettam from Adelaide answered the call and spent a week with the blockade there, blocking some road building. They spoke to Nicky Page when they had just returned, on June 6th. While we wait for the new Environment Minister to review the permission previously given to the mining company (then suspended and then restored!)
