POTENTIAL FOR NATIVE FISH BOOST

Posted on: Tue 29 Mar 2022

A team of scientists from around Australia have shown that providing woody habitat, or ‘snags’ for native fish in the Murray River, increases their population size. This was the outcome of a seven year study of what strategies could lead to an increase in native fish populations.

To examine the study, the practical work done and the outcomes, Barometer’s Des Lawrence spoke to Professor Corey Bradshaw from Flinders University.
