Expect More Floods

Posted on: Tue 8 Mar 2022

The Sixth Assessment Report of the IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change) has been released, and its findings are alarming, showing that unprecedented flooding, such as has recently been experienced in NSW and Queensland, will become more common. The effects of climate change are already here – and another example is a decrease of 20% in global food production – an alarming statistic. Barry Mitchell spoke to Professor Mark Howden, from Australian National University, one of the authors of this significant report.
