60th Anniversary of the First Manned Space Flight

Sixty years ago, Russian cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin became the first human to travel in space when he completed his historic orbit of Earth on April 12, 1961.

Not only was it one of the most significant space ventures of the 20th century, but at the height of the Cold War and the beginning of the space race this was also a political triumph.

Today, Dr Space Junk (aka Alice Gorman) talked with Tom Mann and Zoe Kounadis to tell this fascinating tale and Yuri’s brief brush with Aussie culture.
