Us Correspondent – Taylor Kaplan

It has been one year since the shooting of Breonna Taylor, a woman who was peacefully sleeping in her own home.

Meanwhile, the police officer who killed George Floyd has currently begun his trial.

Since the wide demonstrations for Black Lives Matter nine months ago, there have been orders to better respond to protests and restrictions for police to access to military equipment.

The Covid relief bill, passed by the congress last week, contains roughly $100 billion in aid to families with dependent children, nearly doubling the current child tax credit.

Families with unemployed parents are eligible for these benefits, and will shift the Democrats “welfare reform” which began in the ’90s and will signal potential further policy changes under the Biden administration.
