Don’t Approach Me For Any Motivational Gimmicks

Posted on: Sun 14 Mar 2021

Sydney born sit-down comedy stalwart, Tim Ferguson is taking on those who anoint themselves as motivational speakers, self-help gurus, life coaches and health and well-being experts proclaiming they can ‘cure’ any illness, ailment or affliction of the human psyche.

Ferguson’s radical new show, Smashing Life (Motivation For Idiots), which is premiering at the Adelaide Fringe Festival in The Virago at Gluttony, tackles the phenomenon of searching for alternative, motivational goal-setting techniques and strategies, which includes improving and rejuvenating personal growth, unlocking the potential to succeed, strengthening communication skills, overcoming fear, avoiding anxiety, burnout and stress, balancing time between accumulating wealth and family and spurring those to take action in conquering obstacles preventing them from becoming their true self and achieving the pursuit of healthy cohesion, empowerment and happiness.

Ferguson explains in further detail with De-Stigmatised‘s Jarad McLoughlin why nobody should be wasting their money on momentary, short-lived gimmicks that do nothing to heal those out of their psychological, physical and emotional anomalies.
