Dr Tom Lewis: Eagles Over Darwin

Posted on: Mon 15 Feb 2021

How can we as Australians not be aware of the sacrifices made by American Airmen to defend our Northern shores against the Japanese?

Australian Navy Veteran, Military Historian Dr Tom Lewis OAM opens our eyes to the events that took place all those years ago, events that most of us don’t know about.  Yes, we nearly all know that Darwin was bombed during WW2, but there’s much more to the event than that. Tom tells us how on 19 February 1942 we incurred a great debt of gratitude to our American Defenders.
