Bill Prior: SAPOL Indigenous Trackers

Posted on: Mon 14 Oct 2019

The Australian Aboriginal Trackers have been part of the South Australian Police Force since the 1850’s.  Bill Prior, Vice President of the South Australian Police Historical society shares with us some of the stories that have been documented. Trackers were used to find criminals and lost persons, and bring evidence to light for use in prosecutions.  Bill says… “They had no equal. Their ability in the Australian bush is beyond the understanding of the western mind.”
